I had the opportunity to appear on the local news to show parents how to create these easy DIY pirate costumes for kids. I was able to create all the outfits for under $10. You can use clothes in the kid’s closet or find cheap clothes at the thrift store. I was able to find plain shirts at the Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Walmart. If you are getting items from the craft store, always use a coupon. They can be found on the store’s website. Looking for tips to prepare for the Children’s Gasparilla Parade? Check out my blog post for Tampa Bay Moms for great information. I share all the details about parking, items to bring and the best area to view the parade. This event is not as long as the adult parade, but there’s a lot of entertainment for kids.  Make sure to bring a wagon or stroller for the little ones. There’s a lot of walking involved so they will need a break. You can also decorate them as pirate ships since the children will be wearing their DIY costumes.
