Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me! We are so excited to attend the Children’s Gasparilla Parade this weekend in Tampa. It’s a family tradition for many residents in the Tampa Bay area. The best way to gear up for one of the biggest pirate celebrations in the country is wearing a costume. There are some people who really go all out by purchasing high-end costumes from local shops. However, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to create cool costumes for your little buccaneers. Check out these last minute DIY pirate costumes for Gasparilla. They are easy to make and doesn’t require sewing skills. Don’t forget to be safe and have fun!
I had the opportunity to appear on the local news to show parents how to create these easy DIY pirate costumes for kids. I was able to create all the outfits for under $10. You can use clothes in the kid’s closet or find cheap clothes at the thrift store. I was able to find plain shirts at the Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Walmart. If you are getting items from the craft store, always use a coupon. They can be found on the store’s website.
