Easter is almost here! Things are a bit crazy right now with the COVID-19 pandemic. I know you’re probably wondering how to have the best Easter celebration this year as a family. You can still make it exciting and memorable for your children. Check out my guide on how to celebrate Easter with the kids when you’re stuck at home.
Easter Egg Hunt
One of the best Easter celebration ideas is an egg hunt with your family. Kids always get excited about searching for Easter eggs. This tradition doesn’t have to end because we have to stay home. You can hide the eggs inside your home, in the backyard, on the patio, porch or in the front yard. Fill an inflatable pool with shredded paper or Easter grass and let the kids search for eggs. If you didn’t get a chance to buy eggs, make these colorful cardboard Easter eggs to hide. The kids can get prizes like cookies or their favorite snacks after the hunt. No need to spend extra money to have fun with the kids. Use what you have, be creative and have fun!
As you know by now, I love making crafts with the kids for every holiday. Whenever I’m looking for a new activity or project, I always head to Pinterest for inspiration. You can create something simple or go all out for Easter. Check out this Easter bunny scrape painting or Easter egg paper collage to make with your children.

LIVE Stream Easter Worship Service
If you enjoy attending worship service for Easter, you may not be able to do that this year. Many churches have live stream available to not only their members but people all over the world. Get dressed up and watch Easter service as a family.
Video Chat with Family and Friends
So thankful for technology and the ability to communicate with family and friends during these times. Use your computer or other electronic devices to video chat with your loved ones. There are options like Zoom, Google Duo, Apple FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger that allows multiple people to see each other. Use Easter themed backgrounds if possible to create a festive mood.
Watch Easter Movies
Grab some snacks and watch a movie with the family. There are so many options for families these days. You can watch movies like Peter Rabbit, Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade and Hop. Check streaming services like Netflix, Amazon, Disney+ or Hulu for movies that are available.
Make an Easter Brunch
You don’t have to be a chef to put together a nice Easter brunch. You can still make a delicious meal with food you have at home or order food to go at a local restaurant. There are plenty of delivery options available for families as well as curbside services. Keep it simple or create a buffet style feast for the best Easter celebration with your family.
