DIY Popsicle Color Memory Game for Kids

DIY popsicle memory game
Summer has officially started for all the kids in Florida. School is out and now it’s time to have fun! I am so proud of my 5-year old for completing VPK. Unfortunately, the school year was a bit crazy and we had to finish classwork at home due to the pandemic. I want to make sure he doesn’t forget some of his important lessons like learning his colors and matching. I found this colorful memory game at See Lindsay and had to create it for my boys. If you don’t have felt on hand, complete this adorable DIY project with cardstock.  Don’t forget stores like Michaels are offering curbside pickup if you’re not ready to shop in stores with the family. This DIY popsicle color memory game for kids is great for ages 3 and up. You can adjust the difficulty by adding a timer to complete the activity. My 5-year enjoys having timed activities so it was quite entertaining watching him find all the matching pairs for the popsicle color memory game.

Supplies:
Directions:
  1. Print the popsicle template then cut using scissors.
  2. Trace your template on the felt sheets and cut out two of each color. Next, cut the corresponding number of black pieces for the back.
  3. Add glue on your craft stick and a black popsicle cutout. Sandwich another color on top then set aside to dry. Repeat until you have two popsicles of each color.
  4. Start playing the game by turning all the popsicles over so only black is exposed. Make sure you lay the popsicles down on a flat surface.
  5. Flip two over until 12 pairs are found.
