mother's day activities

Mother’s Day is almost here and I know many people are still scrambling for ideas to celebrate the special woman in their life. I can’t speak for all moms but I prefer to have a day where I don’t have to do anything. A day to relax without guilt. Need some ideas? I can help! Check out my list of wonderful things to do to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Beach Day

Heading to the beach is always a good idea especially if you want to relax. My family loves visiting the beach to celebrate Mother’s Day. It’s been a tradition for the last few years. Let the kids help pack everything to give mom a break. Make sure the special woman in your life gets a chance to enjoy the sound of the waves crashing or listen to an audio book. This trip is all about making sure she does whatever makes her happy. Check out this beach packing list to make sure you don’t forget anything.

U-Pick Fruits or Flowers

Spend the day at a local farm picking fruit or flowers. I did this with my family twice. It was a nice experience and we were able to make different treats with the fruits we picked. Sunflower u-pick is happening right now in Florida but I know some states have tulips. You can create a bouquet with the flowers picked on the farm.

Wine Tour

If the special woman in your life enjoys wine, she will love spending the day at a local winery. Try out some new wines then take a few bottles home.

Boat Tour

Treat mom to a day cruise by either renting a boat or booking a boat tour. This is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy a nice breeze. If you’re lucky, dolphin sighting could make the day extra special.

Have a Picnic

You can never go wrong with planning a nice picnic to celebrate Mother’s Day. Whether you head to a local park or set up something in the backyard, enjoying lunch outdoors is a wonderful way to spend some time with the special woman in your life. Make sure to pack a basket full of her favorite treats or order from her favorite restaurant.

Mother’s Day is a special time to celebrate any mom or mother figure. However, let’s make sure we honor them throughout the year. It feels nice to be recognized for all the hard work and sacrifice we make taking care of the family.
