Directions

  1. First, download and print the free shark silhouette. Carefully cut it out. You can also use your Cricut to cut any shark silhouette for this project.
  2. Next, cut out two large pieces of clear contact paper.
  3. Place a dinner plate on the paper side of the contact papers then trace around it. Carefully cut each circle from the contact paper.
  4. Carefully peel off the backing of one of the round contact paper. Cover the inside with colored tissue paper squares. You can also add glitter.
  5. Once the round contact paper is completely covered, glue the shark silhouette into the middle.
  6. Finally, peel off the back of the second contact paper and place it over the shark and tissue paper. Use scissors to remove excess plastic. Add double sided tape to the back of the shark suncatcher then attach to a window or sliding glass door.

You can set up a craft station to create this suncatcher for a shark week party or birthday celebration. I would suggest cutting the circles from contact paper ahead of time before setting up the craft station. Little ones will have a great time counting the tissue squares as they add them to the contact paper. This is also a great time for kids to practice using scissors. There’s always different ways to learn and have fun while crafting.
