Mother’s Day is a special time of the year when we get to honor and show appreciation to the wonderful women who are also mothers in our lives. A great way to make them feel special is by creating a homemade gift. Show your mom, grandmother, aunt or the caregiver in your life how much you love them by making one of these Mother’s Day crafts. You only need a few supplies for each of these crafts and I included FREE templates. You will find some easy and unique ideas that will make the perfect gift for your loved one.

DIY Mother’s Day Paper Flower Bouquet

Supplies for Mother’s Day Crafts

Directions:

  1. First, cut out different flower shapes for your bouquet on white cardstock. If you have a Cricut, you can use your favorite flower image.
  2. Next, paint your paper flowers. You can blend different colors or use one color for each flower. Set it aside to dry when you are finished.
  3. Once the paint is dried, use a hot glue gun to attach the flowers to a wooden dowel rod.

Flower Message Mother’s Day Card

Supplies for Mother’s Day Crafts

  • Colorful cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Flower template
  • Black permanent marker
  • Glue
  • Alphabet stickers
  • Cricut (optional)

Directions

  1. First, download the printable flower template then cut out all the pieces.
  2. Next, kids can write short messages or words to describe their grandma, aunt or caregiver on the petals of one of the flower templates.
  3. Fold a white cardstock in half to create your card.
  4. Glue the stem with leaves to the bottom of your card.
  5. Use glue to stick the flower with the handwritten message on top of the stem.
  6. Apply a small amount of glue to the center of this flower then stick the second flower on top. Write “My Grandma is… or My Aunt is…” in the middle of the top flower.
  7. Finally, use stickers or a black permanent marker to write a message inside of the Mother’s Day card.

Mother’s Day Shrinky Dink Keychain

Supplies for Mother’s Day Crafts

Directions

  1. First, use gloss acrylic paint or permanent markers to decorate your shrinky dink sheet.
  2. Next, set any painted sheet aside and allow to dry. Then write your child’s name and year or sweet message on the back of the sheet.
  3. Add a hole punch where you want your keychain to go. Make sure you complete this step before adding the sheet to the oven.
  4. Place parchment paper on a baking sheet then add your shrinky dink craft. You can place another piece of parchment paper on top of the craft to stop it from folding. Make sure to place the paint side up in the oven. Follow the directions on the package for heating instructions.
  5. Apply mod podge on the side of the paint to protect it from chipping.
  6. Finally, once your shrinky dink craft is completely dry, add your split rings and tassel keychain.

Yarn Flower Bouquet

Supplies for Mother’s Day Crafts

Directions

  1. First, download the printable flower template then cut.
  2. Next, trace the pattern on the recycled cardboard.
  3. Start paint the cardboard flowers then set aside to dry.
  4. Once the flowers are completely dry, glue strands of yarn on top of the flower. Glue a yarn pom pom in the middle of the flower.
  5. Finally, tape or use a hot glue gun to attach the cardboard flowers to the green floral stem wires.
