3 Easy Shamrock Crafts That Kids Will Love

shamrock

St. Patrick’s Day is almost here! I wanted to share these easy shamrock crafts that kids will love. Your child will have three different ways to paint their lucky charm. Each style is suitable for toddlers, preschoolers and older children. I can’t guarantee that these crafts will be mess-free because kids will always find a way to get paint anywhere. However, I know they will have a great time. You only need a few supplies that may already be in your home. There’s also a free shamrock template included to complete these crafts.

Gold Coin Painting Shamrock

Directions

  1. First, print the shamrock template on white cardstock then cut.
  2. Next, place the shamrock inside of the shoe box or plastic container.
  3. Add a few drops of paint using different shades of green.
  4. Drop plastic gold coins inside of the container.
  5. Finally, shake the container making sure the gold coins are moving around on the shamrock. This was my oldest favorite activity. He danced while shaking the shoe box.

Q- Tip Painted Shamrock

Supplies

Directions

  1. First, print the shamrock template on white cardstock then cut.
  2. Next, add paint to the paper plate or paint palette.
  3. Place a cotton swab in each paint color.
  4. Finally, dab the shamrock with the cotton swabs. Your child can either make a pattern or random dots. Get creative!

All the shamrock crafts are great for improving fine motor skills. Preschoolers and older children can also practice their scissor cutting skills. Kids can count as they are dabbing the shamrock with either the cotton balls or q-tips.
