I put this activity together for my toddler using artificial flowers. We didn’t have any fresh flowers at home and thought it would be a waste just to buy it for this project. All you need to do is fill a round tray or sensory table with water then add the flowers. That’s it! Since it was a nice day, I took the fun outside. My toddler had a great time playing with his flower soup and watching the birds fly around the backyard.

It was really nice watching him concentrate on scooping each flower then adding it to the pot. Surprisingly, he didn’t make a mess with the water. His shirt wasn’t soaked because he didn’t splash around with this activity. We also worked on counting and color recognition with the flowers.
