Supplies for Flower Heart Painting

Directions

First, use your Cricut to cut a heart on white cardstock for this craft. If you’re using the heart template, print on white cardstock then cut out.
Next, allow your child to pick out the colors they want to use for this activity. Add a few drops of each paint to a paper plate.
Finally, use a flower to paint the heart. Have your child dip the flower in paint then press it gently on the heart shaped cardstock. Once they are finished, set aside and allow it to dry. You can create a garland, card or frame the heart once it completely dries.

My 3 year old had so much fun painting with the flowers. I let him have creative control for this Valentine’s Day art project. He mixed the colors then painted his heart. I enjoyed watching him get excited every time he dipped the flower in the paint. He was so proud of his work. It’s currently displayed in our kitchen. This activity gets a little messy so make sure to keep wipes nearby.
