Colorful Ice Cream Stamp Art that Kids will Love

ice cream stamp art

My family loves ice cream! I thought it would be fun to make this ice cream stamp art using the same technique as the tulip craft I created for spring. Using bright colors was the perfect choice for this summer activity. It’s a fun art project that your kids will love!

Supplies for Ice Cream Stamp Art

Directions

  1. Start by cutting a triangle from brown cardstock or construction paper.
  2. Next, glue the triangle to the bottom of the white cardstock.
  3. Now add your paint to a paper plate.
  4. Dip the rim of the cup in the paint then stamp above the cone.
  5. Repeat step 3-4 with the second color of paint.
  6. Add a little water to the small container. Dip the paintbrush in the water then dab a little paint from the circle to create watercolor paint.
  7. Repeat step 6 with the second circle.
  8. Add brown paint to a paper plate. Dip the fork in the paint then create marks on the triangle to resemble an ice cream cone. See pictures below.
  9. Finally, add glitter to the circles to represent sprinkles. You can also add a pom pom to the top for the cherry.

After completing this activity, I realized it may be easier for smaller children to make the fork prints on the brown paper first. Allow it to dry then cut a triangle shape from the paper to make the cone. Sometimes art projects doesn’t always go as planned and you learn how to make things easier for your child and their skill level.

This was such a fun art project to make with the kids. Allow them to choose their ice cream colors and they can name them different flavors. Take a trip to a ice cream shop after completing this activity. You will make your kids very happy!
