Today is Earth Day! I know many people are enjoying the outdoors especially in Florida. My boys had a great time riding their scooters to school instead of waiting in the car line. Supplies for Earth Day Shaving Cream Art

Shaving cream
Round objects like a bowl or trivet
Washable paint (green & blue)
Recycled container
Paint brushes
White cardstock

Directions

First, add two globs of shaving cream to a recycled container. Start saving those containers you take home from a restaurant or super market. They are perfect for art projects!
Next, mix washable blue and green paint with the globs of shaving cream. See images below.
Finally, it’s time to paint! Use the colored shaving cream to create landscapes and bodies of water. When your child is finished, set aside to dry. Once it’s completely dried, your Earth Day shaving cream art is ready to be displayed.

This was such an easy art project to set up for my son. I decided to put all the supplies on a tray to minimize the mess. It worked out perfectly!

My 3-year old had so much fun painting his Earth Day shaving cream art. If your child is not a fan of mess, keep a towel nearby. We talked about the colors he was using and the shape of the planet. This was such a great learning activity for my little one. We also read the book, I Love Earth. It’s an adorable book that teaches children how to love and care for Earth’s resources. This touch and feel board book discusses the importance of planting trees, conserving water, cleaning beaches, recycling trash and turning off the lights.
