We’re still celebrating National Ice Cream Month! Love that we can enjoy this frozen treat in Florida all year long. Check out my favorite shops that I shared with Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine. I thought it would be a great idea to create another summer project that would be fun for my boys. This easy balloon stamping ice cream craft is perfect for kids. Colorful paint, balloons and glitter are all you need to make your own ice cream craft.

Supplies for Balloon Stamping Ice Cream

  • Balloons
  • Brown cardstock or construction paper
  • Paint (bright colors)
  • White cardstock
  • Paper plate
  • Glue or glue stick
  • Glitter, pom poms, glitter glue, sequins (toppings for ice cream)

Directions

  1. First, cut small triangles from brown cardstock or construction paper.
  2. Next, glue one triangle at the bottom of the white cardstock. See picture below.
  3. Now blow up your balloon then tie it. I didn’t blow it up all the way because I wanted my boys to be able to hold it without any problems.
  4. Next, squirt two different color paint on the paper plate. Let your child choose colors to represent their favorite ice cream flavors.
  5. Take the balloon, dip it in paint and stamp it above the brown cone. Your child may have to move it around a little to make a nice circle.
  6. You can wipe off the balloon or blow up another one. Then repeat step 5 using a different color.
  7. Your child can make more one or two cones. Leave the decision up to them.
  8. Finally, add toppings to the ice cream using glitter, pom poms, sequins or glitter glue.

Balloon stamping is a simple activity that is great for kids. My boys love playing with balloons so this was perfect. Each stamp will look different and doesn’t have to be a perfect circle. Kids can also blend the colors to make a swirl if that makes them happy. Don’t forget to get creative with the toppings and naming each flavor.
