Easy DIY Valentine's Day Sensory Bottle for Kids

This Valentine’s day sensory bottle is easy to make and a lot of fun for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. My 14-month had a great time shaking the bottle and watching all the objects move around. If you’re looking for non-messy sensory play for the little ones, this is the perfect activity to keep them busy. You can make them any time of the year. Only a few craft supplies are needed for this Valentine’s Day sensory bottle for kids.

  1. Start by adding clear tacky glue to a wide mouth plastic bottle. See picture above for example.
  2. Next, add some glitter and small objects to the bottle.
  3. Then add hot water to the bottle but don’t fill it all the way up. Leave some space to determine whether you want to add more glitter or small objects.
  4. Once satisfied, fill the remainder of the bottle with water. Add the top and give it vigorous shake.
  5. If you’re happy with the results, let the bottle sit (uncapped) until the contents reach room temperature.
  6. Finally, add a dab of hot glue around the inside of the cap and seal the bottle. Your child can now enjoy playing with their Valentine’s Day sensory bottle.
My toddler really enjoyed this activity. Sensory bottles are known to help calm anxious kids but they are also used for regular play with children.
