Fizzy Dyed Easter Eggs

Supplies

Directions

  1. First, create a baking soda paint by mixing 1 tbsp of baking soda with 5 drops of food coloring. Mix to form a wet paste. You can add a few drops of water to get the right consistency.
  2. Next, place the egg in a bowl then start painting with baking soda paste using the paint brush. I purchased my craft plastic eggs from Walmart but these eggs are similar. Your child can use different colors. I set out four mini cups with the baking soda paint for my boys.
  3. Add vinegar to the squeeze bottle then squirt the egg to create a cool chemical reaction. You can also add the vinegar to a cup if that’s easier for your child.
  4. Finally, set aside to dry. Your egg should have a unique pattern. It’s okay to dab egg with paper towel to remove excess vinegar.

Scrape Painting Easter Eggs

Supplies

Directions

  1. Print and cut out the egg template.
  2. Next, add a few drops of paint all over the paper egg.
  3. Finally, take the cardboard and scrape it across the egg. Start at the top and move downward. Now move in a different direction. Try not to scrape the egg more than 3 times. Set aside to dry.

I had the opportunity to share these easy Easter crafts with viewers of Daytime TV Tampa on WFLA Channel 8. It was a wonderful segment with host, Maggie Rodriguez. These crafts can get a little messy so gloves may be a great idea or have hand wipes nearby. You can view the segment below!
