Easy Fall Sensory Bin That’s Awesome for Kids

easy fall sensory bin for kids

Even though many people are already preparing for Christmas, I thought it would be nice to create this easy fall sensory bin for my boys. School was closed today due to Tropical Storm Eta and I needed some fun activities for my kids. This fall sensory bin was easy to put together and kept the boys entertained for a long time. Many of the materials can be found at home. I decided to use some artificial items but you can definitely grab leaves, acorns and pine cones from outside. This easy fall sensory bin is perfect for kids and affordable.

Sensory bins are great for small children but they should always be closely supervised. Some of the items may be a choking hazard. You can substitute with larger fall items.

Grab some scooping tools from your kitchen and let your kids explore this awesome sensory bin. Add the dyed rice and lentils to the plastic bin and all the fall items. Your children will enjoy playing with all the different textures and working on their fine motor skills. I talked about all the colors with my toddler and helped him with counting all the pumpkins. My kindergartner separated the acorns from all the pumpkins. The boys also enjoyed scooping all the rice into the empty jar and bin.
