My kids love sensory play, so I wanted to put together something that’s perfect for Halloween. This Frankenstein sand sensory activity kept them engaged and allowed them to use their senses and imagination. I love how easy it is to set up and can be stored to use at a later time. Supplies for Frankenstein Sand Sensory Activity
- Frankenstein pumpkin decorating set
- Plastic bin
- Crayola silly scent sand or kinetic sand (green)
- Black felt or cardstock
- Skeleton Hands Salad Tongs
- Cups or bowls

Setting Up Sensory Bin
Start by gathering all your supplies to make the Frankenstein sand sensory activity. I used our IKEA FLISAT children’s table for this activity, but you can use any plastic bin or tub. Next, I added 3 small bags of the Crayola silly scent green sand to the plastic bin. I found mine years ago in the Dollar Spot section at Target. Finally, add the Frankenstein pumpkin decorating set on top of the green sand. I used black cardstock to create Frankenstein’s hair, but you can use black felt.
Make sure to monitor smaller children because some of the items can be a choking hazard. Also, the sand is not edible so make sure children are not putting it in their mouth. You can use cups, bowls or skeleton hands with this sensory activity.
