I’m wrapping up September with another fun craft before shifting to all things Halloween. This coffee filter apple craft is a must-try for parents and teachers looking for a fun, hands-on fall activity. Yes, it gets a little messy but kids will enjoy watching the colors blend on the coffee filter. This budget-friendly art project is perfect for preschoolers and elementary aged children. I have included an apple template to make crafting less stressful especially for those who are not a fan of drawing. Ready to get started? Keep scrolling!

Supplies for Coffee Filter Apple Craft
- Apple template
- Baking sheet or tray
- Markers
- Pencil
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Coffee filters
- Liquid glue or glue stick
- Spray bottle

Directions
- First, place a coffee filter flat on a baking sheet or tray. Let your child use a red marker to color the entire coffee filter. Allow your child to get creative with their designs. Color more of the filter to make the colors brighter when you’re finished. They can also color their coffee filter green or yellow.
- Next, lightly spray water onto the colored coffee filters with a small spray bottle. Watch as the colors bleed, mix and spread across the filter to create a watercolor effect. Set it aside to dry completely. (Usually takes about 20-30 minutes. I was able to place our filters outside since it’s still hot in Florida.
- Finally, download, print and cut the apple template. Trace the body of the apple on the colored coffee filter then cut. Place the stem on brown cardstock then trace and cut. Trace the leaf on green cardstock then cut. Use glue to attach the stem and leaf to the body of the apple. You can display your apple on a window, sliding class door or on a bulletin board at school.
