How to Make a Grill Handprint Card for Father’s Day

grill handprint card for Father's Day

Father’s Day is almost here! We can’t forget about the special men in our lives. They should be celebrated just as much as mothers. Since my husband loves to grill, I figured making a grill handprint card would be perfect. This Father’s Day craft was inspired by Our Kid Things DIY keepsake card. I love that you can customize this card to make it special. Choose dad’s favorite color to make their grill handprint card. Don’t forget to write a sweet message inside to make dad feel super special.

Supplies for Grill Handprint Card

Directions

  1. First, download the grill template. Cut out all the pieces. Trace the large circle on red or black cardstock.
  2. Next, glue the white circle in the center of the black circle. Then fold the circles in half. This will create your grill.
  3. Write your Happy Father’s Day message on the inside of the card.
  4. Use a pencil to trace your child’s handprints. One on red and one orange cardstock. Then use scissors to cut out the handprints. Make sure smaller children are using safety scissors and supervise.
  5. Glue the handprints together at either the thumbs or little fingers. Then glue the handprints behind the fold of the grill card. These handprints will represent the flames.
  6. Now it’s time to glue the spatula to the front of the card.
  7. Finally, attach the craft sticks together using a hot glue gun. You should form the letter “A” to create the legs for the grill. Then glue the craft sticks to the back of the “grill” to complete this Father’s Day card.

You can write in the card, anything that uses the word “grill” or cute sayings related to grilling. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Dad, you’re the grill master of our hearts!
  • Make no Mis-steak, you’re the best dad ever!
  • Dad, you’re our BBQ hero!
  • Thanks for always bringing the heat!
  • You’re a Grill-iant Dad!
  • Dad, you’re a flame-tastic griller!
  • You’re a “Grill”-y Great Dad!
  • Well done, DAD, Well done!
  • I Grill-y Love You!
  • You’re a Flippin’ awesome dad!
