How to Make a Yarn Wrapped Frankenstein Craft

We celebrated Frankenstein Friday by making this yarn wrapped Frankenstein craft. I love using recycled cardboard for art projects with my kids. You save money and reduce waste. I was inspired by Kids Craft Room Frankenstein to create this Halloween craft. Make sure you visit their website to check out their version. Supplies for Yarn Wrapped Frankenstein Craft

Green paint
Scissors
Glue
Recycled cardboard
Green yarn
Tape
Black cardstock
Pencil
Foam brush
White cardstock
Foil
Cricut (optional)
Hot glue gun
Frankenstein template

Directions

First, cut a rectangle from a recycled cardboard. It can be any size you want. I wanted a large Frankenstein so mine is 8 x 10.5 inches.
Next, paint the cardboard green then set it aside to dry.
Tape the beginning of your green yarn to the back of your painted cardboard. Now, wrap it with the green yarn in different directions. Don’t completely cover the cardboard. When finished, tape the end of the yarn to the back of the cardboard.
Cut hair, eyebrows, mouth, eyes and scars from cardstock. You can also download, print then cut out the FREE Frankenstein template. See supplies to get the template. If you have a cutting machine like a Cricut, search for a Frankenstein image then cut. Glue the features to the cardboard.
Finally, create the bolts for Frankenstein’s neck by cutting a T-shape from a strip of recycled cardboard. Then wrap with foil and glue one on each side of the cardboard to complete your Frankenstein. See pictures below.
