Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any Kwanzaa stamps online or in stores so I had to create them. I purchased the Kwanzaa wooden plaques at Joann craft store as well as the doll heads. The fabric was purchased from Michael’s craft store during Black History Month. I used a hot glue gun to attach the fabric and doll head to the wooden plaques.

Print the two Kwanzaa playdough mats onto cardstock then laminate. You can use a thermal laminating machine or visit your local copy and print shop. Set the mat out with playdough, Africa cookie cutter and DIY stamps then invite your children to complete the designs or create cool Kwanzaa prints.

My boys had a wonderful time creating prints with the DIY Kwanzaa stamps. They also enjoyed using the Africa cookie cutter as well as creating shapes to match the Kwanzaa playdough mats. My 3-year old worked on counting and color recognition. This was a fun way to celebrate the holiday especially with smaller children. We also talked about the principles of Kwanzaa and how we can apply them all year long.
