One of the best things about the summer is visiting different beaches around Florida. I love watching my kids play in the water or build different things with the sand. If you’re looking for a simple way to bring the beach home, check out this sandcastle sand art project for kids. There’s a free printable available to help your kids create a cool sandcastle.

Supplies for Sandcastle Sand Art Project

Directions

  1. First, download and print the sandcastle coloring page.
  2. Next, use liquid glue to outline the sandcastle.
  3. Finally, sprinkle sand onto the glue. Shake off excess sand and allow sandcastle to dry.

This was a fun and simple activity for the kids. It can get a little messy so this would be a great outdoor activity at home. You can also lay a blanket or beach towel in the living room to give the kids a cool experience while making their sandcastle sand art project. This activity is great for little ones who are working on their fine motor skills. They can use their fingers to scatter the sand or a spoon. If your child wants to add more to their art project, grab some stickers or markers so they can decorate their paper.

I used ground brown rice from this construction zone sensory bin as sand for this project. However, you can use real sand or colored salt. Make sure to supervise smaller children while creating this sandcastle sand art project.
