We love making coffee filter crafts! You can create something for every season or holiday! This coffee filter Christmas tree was so much fun to make, and I love the tie-dye design. It’s a great Christmas craft for toddlers, preschoolers, elementary aged children and teens. You can turn your coffee filter Christmas tree into an ornament or glue it to cardstock to create a card. Let’s get crafty!

Supplies for Coffee Filter Christmas Tree

Directions

  1. First, place a coffee filter on a baking sheet or tray. Make sure to flatten the filter so it’s easier to color.
  2. Next, let your child use green markers to color the coffee filter. Allow your child to get creative with their designs. The more you color the filter, the brighter the colors will be when you’re done.
  3. Once you’re finished coloring your filters, use a small spray bottle to spray water onto the coffee filters. You can also use an eye dropper. Make sure the coffee filter is not super wet or it will take forever to dry.
  4. After you are finished spraying the coffee filter, set it aside to dry completely.
  5. Fold the coffee filter in half then fold it in half again to create a triangle shape. Make three triangles for your Christmas tree. You may need to add a small amount of glue to hold it together.
  6. Glue the three coffee filter triangles together to create a Christmas tree. Then glue a jumbo craft stick to the back of the coffee filter Christmas tree.
  7. Finally, add a glitter foam star at the top of the coffee filter Christmas tree.
